Are there legit ways of making real money online, with out spending a penny? Other then affiliated programs?
692 ways that I have made money online apart from affiliate programs are from using Adsense and Dropshipping on ebay.
Adsense is one of the best ways of making money online. It's easy to set up and you can make money straight away. If you have no knowledge of html you can setup a blog or a hub page, write about topics that interest you and you can start making money once you start getting some traffic.
If you want to start making a lot of money I think that you can build a number of websites and blogs on targetted niche topics. This may take a while for you to setup to get good quality content and even longer for you to start earning money.
The first thing you need to do is think of a topic. You can get ideas by typing in adsense niche into google. I reccommend you looking into something you are interested in so you can write easily. The most important thing is then to do your research. You can use free keyword tools such as wordtracker. I also reccommend the keyword tool at SEOBook. Once you have found a niche with words that people search for and with low competition you are on a winner. You can check this buy searching for keywords, if you find that there are a few people seaarching it then enter the keyword in google. Google tells you how many sites match them words. You can then put the keywords in " " to find a better idea.
You can setup a free website with all the features of paid hosting. I use 000webhost which offers unlimited mysql databases (perfect for wordpress, comparison site, shopping cart all in one site) email forwarding, domain hosting, php plus loads of other features. The host allows you to build multiple websites in one account and have multiple subdomains.
You can get a free .co.cc domain name from www.co.cc
Get free traffic using the best of web 2.0. Use social bookmarking sites, use free directories using Directory Submitter.
You can slowly build a network of websites or blogs. It is important to make sure you have good content. I try not to use duplicate content.
The amount you earn will depend on your niche, your content and also where your ads are shown. You should always track your adsense pages using channels and then see what are your best perforimng ads. You can chop and change to see which are the best ad formats and see what happens to your earnings. Once you have found a good one stick with it.
Even if you make around $1 a day it is ok to start off with. If you maybe make a new website every week and build around 20 good quality websites and each of them pull in around $1 a day that's $20 a day. Once your site gets older, you start building more links to it and get more traffic you could be pulling in around $5 a day from each website. You can then monetize it using affiliate programs aswell.
Another method of making money online is using dropshipping. You can setup a free online store at www.vstore.ca. You will need products to dropship and reliable suppliers with good prices are hard to find. One way is to find companies and ask them if they dropship and introduce it to them. It is important to find a niche makret in dropshipping aswell.
You can dropship products directly from China. You can then promote your products through Google Base for free. You can also dropship on ebay but you have to pay the ebay and paypal fees.
You can combine all these methods with other smaller methods of making money such as make money blogging & get paid to programs.

In my country nothing good comes really free. Some of the free products advertised online are scams..quite a large number.
If you have ample time you could try some of the paid to click sites. You need to do some due diligenceso that you dont end up wasting your time. I have made a few bucks from some of those programmes. I will post my experence for others to see
I agree, I used to sign up for MLM programs but found out the best way to make money is to do it myself.
I am now making over $50 a month from adsense alone. Plan to increase it by building more websites. But you do have to spend a little to make some.
rumel keep up hubbing, you will make money. I make $150-$200 a month with Adsense and about $100 from Amazon and eBay.
these are some really good tips - some I wish I had known about a few years or months ago when I set up a hosting account or tried dropshipping. it's hard and takes time to build any kind of online income, but it is possible, and despite what others say, it is possible to do for free. I've been with HubPages for about 4 months and am now making about $20 a month just from AdSense. I'm also making money here and there from other affiliate programs (all through HubPages or my hubs) - it's a start and I plan on making it grow! but it does take time and a learning curve.
I use adsense and have gotten a little bit of money so far, but not much. I don't think I've gotten any of that adsense money from my hubpage :(. I do make most of my money online from playing video games though which has on good months been $500 dollars. The ways to make money are pretty broad on the internet. If you can think of a way it's probably possible with some thought and effort.
There are loads of ways of making money online, sometimes it's overwhelming, you need to grab one and focus on that for a while, then maybe go onto something yet. What I did was try everything at once.
I'm not going to focus on adsense much now, i'm sticking with affiliate marketing.

I signed up for AdSense shortly after joining HubPages, but on My Affiliate Settings page I still have this announcement:
"In order to begin earning money through AdSense on HubPages, you need to approve the association between HubPages and your Google by either following the link in the Email you should have received from Google, or logging into your AdSense account and navigating to My Account -> Account Access and enable access for www.hubpages.com there."
And next to my affiliate code, which is there, it still says: "Pending Your Response to Google Email," But I responded to that email right away and several times. What have I done wrong? Any suggestions?
It seemed to take forever to get that verification from adsense, like two weeks or more. So, far, i've made a whopping 3 cents!!!! yahoooo
I'm not sure Constant Walker. Instead of replying to the mail or clicking the click from the mail try and go into your adsesne account and do it from there. You may need to get verification.

I've been online a few years and have I made money? To be honest - I have spent more than I have made. But I will persist because I have made some small amounts overtime and I can still see the potential.
My advice is: don't dive into anything without giving it some thought or exchange of views - just as we are doing here - because the most soul-destroying situation is when you allow yourself to hop in and out of what looked good concepts but proved not to be so. You will get so frustrated (and broke) that you'll feel like giving up - don't :-)
If I were to listen to my thoughts on making money online (and it's not just the material things that I seek, but the freedom a private income brings) it is to remind myself that you can't do it without other people. Obvious, maybe, but if you wish to sell or share profits, you cannot do it alone.
So it is really important to build yourself a customer or client base: people you get to know and who you can trust and who can trust you. Together you can achieve!
The whole business of emailing folk with your offer is being tightened up and nailed to the floor so much now that it is almost a waste of time and money. You have to get folks' permission (even the big autoresponders insist on double opt-ins). So what to do? Compile your own list of people who have said they want to hear your offer, who have given you a genuine email address.
That is why I have written a hub or two about list-building and whereas the concept I wrote about is basic and reminds of the old chain letter idea, it works and it's one of the only ways to go.
For example: if you can join a list-builder for $5, $10 or $15 and succeed in building a list, you can mail them a product for a few bucks and start to make some money. I think putting Adsense, Amazon and eBay Auction links on your website or hub is a good start but then you might want to reinvest by selling a small product of your own - you will need that private list to do it!

Good hub. Dropshipping sounds quite interesting although not as easy as adsense. But I think I'll give it a try.
Yeah dropshipping may get frustrating if you have problems with your supplier and customers want returns.

For those who are interested in "Drop Shipping" a company called "WorldWide Brands" http://www.worldwidebrands.com/ use to be the gold standard for dropshipping. You might want to check them out. A lot of people use them for eBay, Amazon, Yahoo Stores, personal website, etc.

I signed up with adsense and they banned me for some stupid reason. I think it was b/c I had a title of "Click links and make money" It was about a survey site I had done and they said I was trying to tell people to click on the adsense ads!
Drop shipping is complete bullshit. Don't waste your time goint though the effort of trying to sell someone else's products. Instead look for the countless websites of suppliers outside the United States - get in touch with them, learn about international shipping and importing and make big money. What is this you are talking about $1 a day $10 - $20 per week? If you find the right suppliers, you'll be making thousands per day.
By someone else's products I ment that the dropshipping companies get the profit from the products you sell, and you get the crumbs. If you find a product of your own by researching, you'll can make 20 - 40% profit from each item.
rainmakerrain says something very intriguing here, which I think is worth investigating. Certainly it is possible to be blinded by faddish internet programs, when more traditional methods of making money are there...

Ive made around £300 a week selling just one product on dropshipping. With other products the most I have made is around £600 in 1 week.
The $1 a day is my adsense which is increasing all the time.

Dropshipping is just one way of making money, it maybe right for some people, it was for me to get started, i'm a student so I didn't have any startup capital. I liked the fact you don't need to keep stock.
I was dropshipping a lot of products from China and shipped them to the UK aswell as other countries in the Uk and US
Great tips. It certainly takes effort and lots of time to make money online, and it's important not to lose heart in the early stages. I used to get excited if I made a few cents a day on Adsense, but it's gradually built t a few dollars a day. Hopefully it will keep going up!
Yeah you are definitely right, it does take time and effort. Stick to it though. It takes a while to start earning good money. It's important to keep learning and keep an eye out on what's happening in the ever changing world of the interent, internet marketing and search engines.
I've made a few dollars here and there and yes it can be frustrating in trying to find the right fit but I'm persevering as I'm determined to quit the rat race and work for myself. Thanks for the advice.

I did it in a similar way, but not with so many web sites, because I support quality content and not a mess = mass, even though it could make more cash.
My experience: never use a free hosting for anything more meaningful on a long term basis.
I am earning more than $1 per day and the feeling is truly fantastic, because it is all my past work, and YES, constant good work in your web projects could make you financially self - sustainable.

If you really think about it to make money online, you're going to have to spend some money paying for the internet capabilities.
